You could look past the character bastardization? Because I sure couldn't. Where's the awesome, manipulative, shady, works-behind-the-scenes scientist from previous games? Why oh why did Capcom turn Wesker into a generic I-WANT-TO-DESTROY-THE-WORLD villain? :(

I can look past the stupid tacked-on backstory. I can look past the complete and utter character-bastardization that he underwent in Resident Evil 5. But I can't look past how goddamn ugly his character model was in Resident Evil 5.

I think he looks great. It's the "Jake" storyline in 6 that is my breaking point, and I'll never forgive them for it. I mean, where the fuck did he come from? I hardly see Wesker as the kind of dude to go out and knock up a random woman. From the history that I know of him, he was always obsessed with his work. If he was anything, he was obsessed with himself. Or Chris. But I don't see him having a fling with anybody at all. Either Jake is a test tube baby, or GTFO forever Resident Evil.

Amen to that! I hated the Jake storyline. And it didn't even make sense that he was Wesker's son. They could have easily removed that part of his back story and he'd still be the same characters. It's like Capcom realized they wanted a Wesker in their game, but killed off the only Wesker they had, so they just invented one (not counting Alex Wesker...but who gives a crap about that bullshittery?)

Wesker doesn't seem like the sort of guy to have a one-night stand with some random lady. Hell, he'd probably think having sex with an icky human was beneath him...even when he was still a human working for Umbrella, he had a superiority complex and a general disdain for people in general.

Oh my fucking god this. It was such a bullshit backstory just to milk the Wesker cashcow and to pander to fanboys by letting them have a self-insert. Wesker is so OCD that he would never be the type to do a one-night stand, let alone without using protection. The only offspring he would ever willingly have would be test-tube babies. He doesn't even find regular humans to be equal to him, so why the hell would he want to create spawn with them?

And a gorgeous, intelligent, loyal young babe named Excella already threw herself at him and he couldn't care less about that. Hell he didn't even care about the queen of sexy Ada Wong. So I refuse to buy some bullshit that Wesker went off to have a one-night stand when he's the type to sanitize towels after anyone else uses them.

Capcom tends to do this I think. Invent babies for characters for whom it wouldn't make sense to reproduce.

They did it with Wesker; and (MAYBE PERHAPS I DON'T KNOW DMC SPOILER) somehow Nero is the son of Vergil and a prostitute? I never got the feeling that Vergil would do something like that.

tbh, i think the only weird thing about wesker's re5 face is his lack of eyebrows (seriously capcom, he did have eyebrows!) and his weird teeth. but i think that's more of a case of capcom not knowing how to properly render teeth without them looking all sharp and jagged.

other than that, he looks like he always has. except maybe older?

Am I missing something here? Because he looks the same in every Resident Evil game he's been in...









I suppose he looks older and thus more detailed in Resident Evil 5, but that's HD graphics for ya.

He's getting (got?) older. They depict the other (male) characters aging realistically, too. Leon's probably the worst off - he looks almost nothing like he did in RE2, and he's aged considerably between 4 and 6. The series has been around for ages.

(Though the women don't age, of course. Jill and Ada are still as baby-faced as ever, for... shit, reasons I guess.)
