Remembering actors from movies and recognizing them later. I'm talking about third spear carrier to the left and other obscure people. My friends simultaneously use it as a party trick and get annoyed when we're watching something and I say, "I know that guy!"

That sounds like it could be fun. The third spear carrier to the left is sometimes a better actor than the guy playing the main character.

I can tell what actor my family members are trying to name off out of incredibly vague, sometimes outright wrong clues. Once my sister, out of the blue, asked "who is that girl in the green dress from that movie?" and I blurted out "Scarlett Johanssen". I have no idea what movie Scarlett Johanssen wore a green dress in, or even if she did.

Other family favorites include the time I guessed Tommy Lee Jones from "It has that guy who does that look and talks... y'know" and Debra Messing from "the lady from that show we used to watch who was pregnant in front of fabrics".

I've been able to do that a couple times too. It's always fun when they're incredibly vague like that :)

do you remember the names or just recognize them? Like, my friend and I were watching Hugo and were like "It's that guy. I didn't think that guy was in this movie." "I didn't think that guy was here either!" "Who is that guy?" "...no clue"

it's maybe 70/30 that I know the name too. I'm one of those people that actually reads the names in the credits. In the days before they put extra scenes at the end of credits, I would still stay until I saw the script supervisor. I remembered a lot of names after awhile.
