Okay, now I'm curious: what's the backstory on their name?

If I remember correctly, it's a direct pull from the Bible.

I'm also pretty sure it's supposed to be ironic. Not 'lol' ironic but like a gothic teenage rebellion kind of ironic. If that makes any sense.

Yeah, the line's from Genesis 4:24, but vengeance seven times or forgiveness seven times or even just sevenfold is mentioned throughout the Bible (Matthew 18:22, Genesis 4:15). God's favorite numbers: 3, 7, 12, and 70.

I'm not a big A7X fan, I'm just a pastor's kid who looked up the reference since all I could remember was the forgiving seven times seventy verse.
