I was on Omegle talking about the mating habits of turtles (well, the other person was, anyway) when I was sent a link to "confirm" some of the stuff he was saying. Instead, it was that face, flashing, with an electronic alarm sounding, and I couldn't even cover the screen because I needed to see to click the pop-up to close it. I had just enough time to turn my computer off before having a seizure from the sudden flood of adrenaline.

People are complete pricks on the internet.

Oh dude, I'm so sorry that happened to you. There are some serious dicks on the Internet and its not exactly easy to avoid stuff like that either.

I've stopped clicking on those little white icons that lead to a picture and I don't click on links unless I trust the person posting them or I can read the URL. And since that particular screamer, I've always kept the volume below 10%. I have epilepsy and I should have been more careful, but you can't predict for assholery.

I have epilepsy and I don't expect people to just know that, but screamer pranks are pretty much my most hated things on the internet. Bad spelling/grammar can be corrected. Trolls can be ignored. But screamers, especially the ones where you can't just close the window, you have to close the pop-ups, are like when you're going to the store and a guy jumps out of the bushes and puts his hands around your neck.

I'm sorry, that sort of thing has happened to me too, and I know that feeling, like the adrenaline is scalding you from the inside.

In a way, kawaii-ficating such images almost makes them safer. But I still can't bear to have much of any contact with them, can you?

Nope. When I saw that I had replies, I came to this page and just did ctrl+f for my username so I wouldn't have to scroll down and see that picture, even in passing. Screamers just...ugh. If you're normal they ruin your day and give you nightmares. If you have epilepsy you have seizure. I mean, why?
