Editing is a valuable and useful skill. Good for you!

Yeah, I'm trying to get into some editing work :) But it was pretty annoying to reread my copy of The Fellowship of the Ring and notice like 4 spelling errors, haha.

Can you not turn the editing part of your brain off? I can understand how that would be frustrating.

Sometimes I can shut it down enough, but actual spelling mistakes tend to just leap out at me like little evil goblins. So if a book has been proofread enough, I can usually ignore anything else I'd be inclined to edit :)
