This. I definitely wouldn't recommend "exposing" her, if at all, without talking to her about it first; it might just be a misunderstanding. If it's not, and she intentionally used that book's ideas, then maybe you can encourage her to stay active. Regardless, you're not at fault at all in this situation; just do what you think is best, even if that means a dying fandom.

Anyway, since it makes you feel so bad, there's nothing wrong with not beta-reading for her anymore.
