(Anonymous) 2013-08-02 11:06 pm (UTC)(link)* I don't identify as male, but it's what I am biologically, so I don't lie about it if it comes up.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-03 12:05 am (UTC)(link)I think the same is true when you try to divide people into "male" and "female." As it stands now, we've gone a step further by adding "agender," "bigender," etc., but "agender" still means at least two very different things, and "bigender" is becoming more and more questionable. I think even "male" and "female" encompass so many different ways of being and doing to be meaningless.
In other words, if you say that men can't join and women can, you're promoting the idea that the world is divided into men and women, and I don't think it is.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-03 12:35 am (UTC)(link)There's debates about whether "women's" spaces should be actually "non-cis-male" spaces these days, and it's not to be binary, it's to provide a temporary place of strength/chilling out for people who've been marginalised by the practices of cis men, aka the majority of men. "Women's spaces" are only there because sexism & the whole kyriarchy exists, take it away and we would be a beautiful sea of incidental genders or non-genders.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-03 07:28 pm (UTC)(link)my biological sex might be x but that doesn't make me x. if someone asks if I am and I say 'no I'm y,' that's not lying.
