Why do you have to do anything? It's totally possible it's a coincidence, and even if it isn't, copying the plot from a book and reworking it in your own words isn't plagiarism. That's probably not the only trashy action book with the same plot.

It's not plagiarism but if anon is right and it's beat-for-beat, scene-for-scene, the same story, it's some extreme artistic laziness that OP doesn't have to condone.

this is what I thought. it's a work of fanfiction. If it's seventies pulp fiction chances are that some plot pops up over and over. Also, be aware that once you start seeing patterns or connections you will start to see ones that aren't really there. The parallels may only be obvious to you.

Uh, it most certainly CAN be plagiarism. Those cases are subjective and hard to prove, but taking a book and switching the words around can definately get you in trouble.
