(Anonymous) 2013-08-03 08:40 am (UTC)(link)Well, speaking for myself (Brit anon) I'm about as emotionally and sexually mature now at 28 as I was when I was 16. Make of that what you will.
People do develop at different paces, you know, sure some people are still immature at 16, but then some people are still immature at 28 and the fact is that whatever other factors you want to take twist to fit your sense of morals and narrow worldview, 16 is legal in the UK. It's the point we have decided that people are more often than not mature enough to make that decision for themselves. TLDR We are not America 2.0 so piss off.
