As for chicken rice, head to any Muslim Malay or Indian shop. They usually sell them by the tray-full. Also, try some Durians while you're there!
Yeah, cendol is a little bit hard to find up there in the north. Try asking the locals where the nearest cendol eatery is; they usually know the best spots to eat.
And thank you for the cinnamon compliment. Have you tried any Cinnamon Roti Canai yet?
