I think they meant it's fine to be indifferent but it's lacking in compassion to actively try and shove it in everyone's faces how little you do care. Everyone is indifferent to some things that are important to others but it's just not necessary to let everyone know how unimportant it is to you. It's just a way to shit on someone's parade when, if you really don't care, you shouldn't be going out of your way for this in the first place.

I thought that too but that one part is so different from the rest it stuck out at me. It's worded in a way that makes it seem like the person is saying, "Don't be a dick about it. I'm not judging you. (I'm totally judging you.) Why are you being a dick?" Like they tried to slip it in or something.

I guess you're right and that's what they really mean. Just super dubious wording going on.

And I already agree with the sentiment of it not being about the fact that you don't care but rather how you express that lack of caring, when, where, that jazz.
