Your opinion's in the minority, gloomcookie -- burden's on you, not me, but whatever, I'll indulge you: Good characterization, good dialogue, good stories. She knows how to engage the reader and get them invested in the characters, especially in her team books like Secret Six, and she avoids the trap of having some or all of the team members sound alike (Deadshot is not Catman is not Bane is not Ragdoll) and she knows how to inject humor without it feeling forced (which means she's better at being consistently funny than Keith Giffen.)

Not any of them are objective.

Good characterization. Not that I've seen. Her characterization is what I would have said as one of her worst areas.

Good dialogue. Sometimes. Birds of prey had some good bits, Gen13 had a few good bits (for the first book anway). but I've found way too many cringy bits in her works.

Good stories. Five words: Angel of the motherfucking bat. The only reason that is not an actual thing, the only reason there are any good stories to her name, is because there are people there to Veto her terrible ideas.

She knows how to engage the reader and get them invested in the characters
I heartily disagree. She's taken characters I loved and pushed me right away. I deeply regret picking up her wonder woman run. The number of writers who out do her in this area makes me wonder where her reputation comes from.

She avoids the trap of having some or all of the team members sound alike Fair Point, totally agree here, but this is not fantastic. She does not fail at character voices should not be high praise.

and she knows how to inject humor without it feeling forced
Half agree. Some books her humor fits perfectly (Loved her Gen 13, I do admit. Grunge running around having just grown massive boobs. Priceless) but there are so very many times her 'humor' has made me cringe. Humor is also subjective, not objective.

TLDR, I don't know if I can say her writing is objectively not good, but I personally totally disagree with most of these points validity.

You're allowed to disagree. But it helps, when you post an unpopular opinion, not to state it in whiny, trollish absolutes, as if Gail Simone's sole purpose in life is to ruin things you like.

Just out of curiousity, are you male?

Not any of them are objective.

And, when it comes to things like this, nothing is ever going to be objective.

Ever.

People like you don't understand that, because people like you are incapable of grasping that not everyone is Just Like You, and that media doesn't exist Just For You.
