That's making a lot of assumptions, like that the OP's friendship is like you and your best friend's, which might not be the case. I have friends where this wouldn't be a big deal - but I've also had friendships that couldn't [and in one case didn't] survive something like this, particularly if they don't have anything else in common and/or the friend won't stop talking about those fandoms...even when asked.

Truth is, we don't know what the situation is and how much tumblr really is involved beyond *introducing* said friend to those fandoms.
