MLP:FiM S1 got me (adult, software developer) through the first year of a project with completely fucking batshit customers who change their minds and have tremendously shitty new ideas on a daily basis. I was listening to the art of the dress virtually nonstop, and every time someone asks me why I have Rarity on my desk I can reply: Because she knows about my spec change trouble.

PS: Finding the cutie marks doesn't seem to be that easy for everyone (although it is for some, same as with finding a career path) - and we don't actually know the mechanics behind it (i.e. if the cutie mark is set in stone at birth or not).

Hey, that's awesome :) I'm glad you were able to find such encouragement from it!

(That's an interesting observation about cutie mark mechanics. And I wonder if a pony is ever really unhappy with their cutie mark-led career...)

I like to think mistakes can happen with cutie marks.

Iii'm not that big on the ponies so I don't know which episode it was, but one of the CMC centric ones had a couple of rich mean girl ponies that had cutie marks that reflected their positions, and status rather than anything substantial. I belive one of them was a silver spoon?

The whole message that those ponies would never change, look the cutie marks are irrefutable PROOF left me cold.
