I put messages similar to that on my work sometimes because honestly, in my eyes, a piece is NEVER done. I sat on a chapter for two months because I thought it was shit and finally felt guilty and put it up with an apology because I felt like I was making people wait purely for my own neuroses. Basically I have to post it while it's 'hot off the presses' or I will second-guess myself into oblivion.

I know that feeling. I have been re-reading my work to try and get back into writing fics, and find tiny (and big) problems I'd love to go back and correct and improve even years afterwards.

I would have, but if it comes up as an 'update' (top of the page, emails to 'followers') it'd look like a random - and possibly attention-seeking - thing. I can be picky, but I'm not that desperate... I think I ended up correcting the originals for my own satisfaction.
