2 - LOL

3 - Who cares? Do it anyway.

15 - ME TOO. Ugh, I always feel so horrible for the poor poor person who's the butt of the joke... :(

19 - But in shounen anime, the shounen-ai writes itself!

36 - Honey, trust me, you're sure as hell not alone.

44 - Agreed.

DX I SHIP IT.

Question more why there aren't more fans.

...Probably because the show sucks. Seriously, it makes no fucking sense. I think I'm only watching it at this point because the characters are pretty. XD That, and I hate giving up on shows that I've started.

[identity profile] callmejude.livejournal.com 2007-10-06 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
15. Ironically, embarrassment is one of the only things that squick me, too. It doesn't ALWAYS freak me out, but the most random sample of embarrassing moments for certain characters KILL me, and I just want to scream, "OH NO!" and run away for them. D: It's so sad.

[identity profile] wao.livejournal.com 2007-10-06 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
2: lol chemistry

19: A TOKYO MAJIN SECRET I thought I'd never see one. I'm not even that interested in BL but the subtext for them to be uh... more than "Really Good Friends" is pretty clear to anyone fandom-minded IMO.

I think I know youuuuuuuuuuuuuuu...

[identity profile] seshennu.livejournal.com 2007-10-06 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
I... I must have missed this. D:

About what day was it posted on, so I can find the info? *has really missed that show*

[identity profile] metatarsus.livejournal.com 2007-10-06 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
Wut? I feel like I'm pretty into 'Heroes' fandom and I have never heard of this craziness. What happened??

Re: 11

[identity profile] aratama.livejournal.com 2007-10-06 12:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Me neither! I'm deadly curious now.

34

[identity profile] ticklie.livejournal.com 2007-10-06 04:43 am (UTC)(link)
Me too. It doesn't seem possible not</> to.

1. I am of the opinion that birthdayfic is one of the best presents a person can get, so I hope your recipients appreciate the effort that goes into your work and that getting a fic especially written for them is a wonderful thing, not to be taken lightly no matter what you're writing on the side.

15. I am similar. Lots of anime and manga seem to be based on drawn-out misunderstandings to the point where I can't enjoy anything else that's going on. That sort of thing just isn't for you, that's all.

20. That's super cute.

#12- I love this secret. Every time someone gets totally up in arms over a favorite favorite character dying (if the character is a "good guy" at least) and thinks the author is so horrible I just wonder if they realize that it probably wasn't easy for them to do it either. I just find it hard to believe that anyone who has been writing characters this long and had them as such a big part of their life could go on a "gleeful killing spree." I've no doubt it hurt her as much to do it as it hurt the character's fans to read it.

OP

[identity profile] callmejude.livejournal.com 2007-10-06 05:19 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I've noticed a lot of people say that they hate her now, and I just can't. In a way, I wish I could, because it would make it so much easier, but I know she probably feels the same way - if not worse than - I do. I mean, these characters have been a part of her life longer and even more than they've been a part of mine, which, between you and me, is really saying something. XD I know it could NOT have been easy to kill off my favourite character, because I'm sure he was one of her favourites, too. He felt like a best friend to me. I'd hate to know what he was to her.

32

[identity profile] kitsuneasika.livejournal.com 2007-10-06 05:04 am (UTC)(link)
32. OMG There's a second book? *gapes*

[identity profile] onesto-hotel.livejournal.com 2007-10-06 05:13 am (UTC)(link)
2. UGH, NO! DO NOT WANT! I still can't tell the different between oxidation reduction reactions, precipitation reactions, and acid-base reactions. *hates chemistry*

15. Dude, the same thing happens to me. I don't have to leave the room or anything, but I just can't STAND anything with a plot like that. (A word of caution: Never, ever, ever watch a Fred Astaire-Ginger Rogers movie, because that is the plot in EVERY SINGLE FILM THEY MADE TOGETHER and I absolutely can't stand watching them.)

26. I feel sort of guilty for sticking all of my Japanese music under "anime". Except bump of chicken is under "rock" and stuff from the Sakura Taisen musicals is under "soundtrack".

44. I saw SpongeBob porn once. Plankton/Pearl. Nastiest thing I've ever seen, even worse than all that tentacle stuff, simply because of who was doing it.

(Anonymous) 2007-10-06 05:18 am (UTC)(link)
15. I know exactly how you feel. Watching 'Meet the Parents' literally made me sick, I nearly had an asthma attack because I got so stressed out. Can you watch live performances? Like a rock concert or a musical? I have a huge problem with those too, I worry about how the performers will feel if they make a big mistake in front of all their fans and just get really stressed out. I can't even watch the news anymore, with live interviews and the like.

[identity profile] callmejude.livejournal.com 2007-10-06 05:22 am (UTC)(link)
OH MY GOD. I'm not the OP, but I know EXACTLY what you mean about the live performances thing. I can't STAND IT. It drives me MAD. In high school I was a techie for my theatre troupe, too, so I was a mess all the time.

02) Wow, chemistry fandom, that's freaking awesome! Back when I was taking intro to chem I loved figuring out those equations, but now I don't remember anything worth crap in the subject. This is still a great fandom, though. Even though at first I thought it was a secret about Metal Gear Solid because MgS. ^.^;;
04) Oh geez that OP theme makes me gag every time the first syllable goes off. It's SO BAD, but the visual is all right, but it can't make up for the sound of someone dying that's supposed to be singing. O.o;; About your friends, though, it's pretentious of them not to be considerate of your differing opinion. It's fine if they don't like the series, and you're not out to convert them into Zombie Loanism or anything. I don't know how you can get them to stop being so stuck up, but it sucks that you have to feel so bad about liking a series because they're too close-minded to realize their opinion isn't all high and mighty and the only one out there.
39) I've always been a Xander girl, but Giles is mad cool. And I think the recent Giles fangirling secrets are starting to make me think he's hot...
45) You and me both. Then I remembered I only have one, maybe two crackish icons in my whole set and they're only really funny to me. XD;;

I slash historical figures as well.
I love it.
It's wonderful.
And...it has so much more drama.
I mean Aaron Burr X Andrew Jackson are practically canon.
:D
I don't need a secret post to admit that.

19. All through that anime, I wanted to throttle those two and say, "Stop looking at each other like that! I'm trying to pay attention and this show already makes too little sense as it is!"

They bring it upon themselves, really. Oh, the glances that lasted too long and looked a little too meaningful... <3

43

[identity profile] e-corgi.livejournal.com 2007-10-06 05:48 am (UTC)(link)
I suggest caffeine. If that doesn't help, you really don't have ADD, just a tragically short attention span.

[identity profile] herchuckness.livejournal.com 2007-10-06 06:13 am (UTC)(link)
This happened in Heroes fandom? Gnah I want to know what it's about!

[identity profile] flauta-de-pollo.livejournal.com 2007-10-06 06:25 am (UTC)(link)
18. Ohgod, same here but with Viral. (i don't particularly like or dislike Kamina, though.) Everyone's always like ~*FAPFAPFVIRALOMG*~ while I just sit there, thinking "dont care generic furry thing yawn needs moar rossiu"

41. SDLKFJDLSF Rossiu is probably my favorite character from any show, ever, period. (...I never felt pedo about it until I found out he was 10 before the timeskip...) Most fangirls seemed pissed at all of the Rossiu hate, but I got major lulz from it. oh and insert obligatory ROSSIU WAS RIGHT here

p.s. /a/ is tsundere for rossiu now, it seems.

[identity profile] chwheeler.livejournal.com 2007-10-06 06:47 am (UTC)(link)
39) Yay, more Giles!Secrets!
42) I know exactly what you mean. Crazy, crazy Joss!verse....

[identity profile] aviy.livejournal.com 2007-10-06 07:31 am (UTC)(link)
10. I'm sure plenty of people before me said this, but I totally agree. Gurren Lagann made me simply happy and hopeful in a way anime hasn't done in years, and it ENDED with it still like that (sadness in the final episode aside) rather than it sliding off into oblivion the way most of my favorite anime do. I finally can say I have a favorite anime and know with 100% certainty that's what it is. I've carefully locked my memories of sitting around on IRC looking at 4chan spoiler threads every saturday, then freaking out as each part got released on Moontube, spazzing and enjoying myself with friends. Watching ep 21 with a friend at my house where we jointly freaked the fuck out is among one of my favorite memories. I look forward to having sons so I can show them this anime and I secretly know in my heart I'll be devistated if it doesn't mean anything to them as it has to me. IT'S SORT OF DUMB. But... nothing wrong with being moved by a story. That's what they're written for, after all.

#10 OP

(Anonymous) 2007-10-06 12:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh God it's NOT DUMB AT ALL. I know exactly what you mean, i've never had an anime that i could call my favourite because i always used to think 'I like all the series i've seen' and stuff, but it's just that..i don't know, GL gave me something so much more than anything else ever has.
It was just perfect for me, and i know i my hear that this is something i will FORCE my children in the future to watch, and i want them all to grow up thinking about aniki and etc. and it's just ghdfgjfdj the past 27 were fucking amazing, 4chan was just barrel loads of fun because of it, and oh God i miss it all so very very much.
Knowing this saturday i won't be staying up until 2/3am in order to download the RAW is depressing. Knowing we no longer will see those fantastic and beautful characters continue to grow hurts.

I know i sound like a complete loser, but it's nice talking to someone else who feels somewhat the same XD;

My Little Pony: End of Flutter Valley? There are worst things to do with your time. :)

4, 40

(Anonymous) 2007-10-06 08:15 am (UTC)(link)
4. Yes and there are other series that do not involve 'Shinigami' either.
40. The first time always sucks D:

(Anonymous) 2007-10-06 09:07 am (UTC)(link)
4. So, in short, you want them to like the series...? Uh, no, sorry, it doesn't work that way. Granted the series isn't horrible, it also isn't all that great; if your friends diss the series (not you personally), then that's their prerogative.

19. Hah. Those two gave more BFF vibes for me than romantic ones; then again I'm used to seeing guys act like those two.

(Anonymous) 2007-10-06 10:57 am (UTC)(link)
4. So, in short, you think it's ok for friends to be total dickweeds and not watch what they say so they don't upset someone who's supposed to be a friend.
