Yes. I TOTALLY agree that the last few GL episodes just made me love EVERYBODY. (Seriously, everybody. They all had moments of awesome. "My-wife-is-the-best-in-the-Universe-SWING!" and VIRAL'S FAMILY AUGH)

Well, the TV thing... after watching it a few times, my interpretation of it is: the Dream World was what they WANTED, right? Like, Simon had Kamina back, and everything. But in order to get out of it, they had to consciously reject that 'utopia.' Kamina via the TV was showing her everything she COULD have in the Dream World--fame, celebrity, everything... and getting to be with a resurrected Kittan. That WAS what Yoko truly wanted. She had to make the decision to turn the TV off and turn away from that idyllic world.

And thank you for the link~

OH GOD! VIRAL'S FAMILY ;__;~

Oh yeah definitely, that's how it was supposed to interpreted i think. They were given the chance to 'live' (or technically be asleep) a life of what they wanted, what they could've always asked for, your very on utopia, like you said. I think what GL showed us, was that they were all ready to accept the reality they lived in? Like, although they had dreams, and needs and things everyone wanted, they all chose to go down the path of struggle and anguish, because that's who they all were, and nothing would ever change that.

Anytime :D

Yeah, definitely.

I think it's interesting that in Simon's dream, his Kamina was a coward. I can't see Simon WANTING that, though, so I wonder how that happened. Unless maybe Simon really did want Kamina to have been a coward XD;

Oh, is there a GL fancomm or something? I just finished the series (watched it in like four days XD; ) and I want to fanboy over it with people >_>

[identity profile] ovendoor.livejournal.com 2007-10-06 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
OH! I think Simon was completely different though 8D With him it was more he could either choose to have his ANIKI!!!!!! that died, or a coward and a failure that would never face death.

AND YEAH THERE IS~ [livejournal.com profile] gurren_lagann

Whooooo I am to be joining >_>

....Viral's family ;_;

You know what? If Gainax DOES make the OVA I hear they mentioned (covering Viral's 7 years as a freedom fighter on the timeskip) I bet they're going to do something awful like have his catgirl wife be someone who actually existed but who ended up getting killed or something and it will be AWFUL.

I did not think it was possible to make Viral's dream any more heartwrenching.

THANKS A LOT ;_;

I apologize D:
