Yes, actually it is all about the people someone who commits pseuicide leaves behind. This is not like suicide where someone was too damaged to go on - this is where someone chose between option A) quiet fade out and option B) pseuicide, one of which takes more effort than the other and does more damage and went the extra mile just to make sure people were hurt.

Just the act of pretending you died as opposed to disappearing without notice makes it about the people you leave behind.

na This makes sense to me.

Quiet fade out seems to me that it would take time and if the person is suffering because of the people they're connected to online, that's not a good option. It might not even be an option. Online interactions and friendships can have the same effect on someone as RL interactions and friendships. Unhealthy ones can drive a person to suicide. For someone to choose pseuicide over suicide is always a good thing, IMHO.

Oh please. Delete account, end of story. Pretending that you're dead is a lot more work than that. Some people just need to get off on others being devastated over their death.

Why would just not logging in any more take time, ffs? Setting up a "I'm gonna kill myself" is way more time, and pre-meditated desire to hurt. Or are we disagreeing about the meaning of "pseuicide"?
