I've never actually come across any text that ever made it seem like Loke could be Oden's adopted son. Blood brothers and sometimes lovers (as one of my teachers informed me, but that little bit of information is rarely mentioned anywhere, so I was like "Whaaat, that's awesome!"), but never father and son.

I love seeing different fictional interpretations of the Norse myths. But as someone who grew up with the Norse myths and see them as part of what shaped my culture into what it is today, it does kinda make me sad that you seem to imply that the Marvel version can be seen as just as canon as the old myths. Kinda like you happily pooped on the floor of a museum.

NA.

I'm just super curious about the "sometimes lovers" part. Could you please elaborate?

I don't really know anything about it. A friend of mine was reading about Norse gods during cultural history class, and since I knew alot about asatro already she wanted to see if she had understood everything correctly. Suddenly she said "And Loke was gay with Oden..." and I was all "Whaaat, no he wasn't, where did you get that from?". So she showed me the book she was reading (I can't remember what was actually written there, but there was something about Loke and Oden getting it on), I asked our teacher about it, and she said that yes, some of the old texts do mention that they had a sexual relationship, but that it's rarely mentioned in books about the myths.

I just thought it was awesome.

There's a bit in Lokasenna where it's pretty heavily implied that they fooled around when they were younger - shortly after the YEAH WELL YOU CROSSDRESSED TOO bit that Odin didn't deny the accuracy of.
