The album "In Control" by Nemesea is pretty much all about someone being in and then breaking out of such a relationship.

Face Down by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus is the first thing that comes to mind. Definitely check out both the album version and the acoustic version, I've enjoyed both.

I'm sure if I stretch my mind a bit further, I could thing of some more country songs.
