Wow, what the hell is up with that train of thought? a 50+ actress would be too insecure to slip into costume? You think older women don't have confidence or work ethic or that the writers couldn't write around her age if she stuck by her role for that long?

If they were given the chance, a lot of 50+ women would still take the role regardless of costume, I assure you. WTF is up with that excuse.

I don't know. WTF is up with saying that a woman in her twenties is a 'girl'. It's not like young women the world over struggle because they're infantilized by society or anything.

Are you actually implying that anyone who doesn't want to wear Wonder Woman's outfit is just 'insecure'?

Because I didn't say that at all.

What's the implication of "they'd have to find an actress willing to slip into it on screen when she's 50+ years old" then? Why would there be a lack of women who don't want to put on a costume because of their age-- specially if it's a role she's been playing for a while and presumably enjoys.

Again, how is this in any manner a reasonable excuse to not cast an older woman?

Is there any reason you can't have a reasonable discussion about this without ATTACKING the above poster, anon? Because damn, this is about fan casting, not world hunger.

A 50+ year old woman is not going to be in the same physical shape as a woman in her twenties. A woman approaching her 60s is much less likely to want to spend her days running and doing overly strenuous shoots. I'm not sure why you think that's an unreasonable thought.
