If I may, I want to take a shot.

Going with the traditional origin, Diana is made from clay and given divine favor by the gods, knew the love of a thousand mothers, etc, including the part when the Amazons hold a tournament to see who shall see who will venture into Man's World, she is forbidden from participating and only gets in by hiding her identity. This will be the crux of her narrative arc; she may have divine favor, but she must fight to prove not only to her sisters, but to the world that she is worthy to wield these powers, aka the 'Wonder' part of her name.

(Also second sub-arc; she was forbidden to participate because her mother, and a few of the other amazons, still see her as their little girl. By venturing into Man's World and experiencing major culture shock, she has to rapidly mature into an adult, aka the 'Woman' part.)

This is tested when she meets Dr. Barbra Minerva, aka the Cheetah. She's Wondy's perfect foil; a woman of science who uses divine relics as a means for selfishness and power. Unlike Diana, who sees godly favor as a sacred duty, Barbra (and a lot of Man's World) sees them as nothing more than tools for personal gain. Since Barbra needs blood sacrifices for her powers to work, meaning killing/hurting innocent people, Diana is compelled to stop her.

She defeats Barbra but shows her compassion by helping her with the side-effects of the Cheetah powers. At the end, Diana rejects the idea of having a secret identity, because she's earned the right to be Wonder Woman and will never need to hide her face again.

And in the end we can have a post-credits stinger of Circe watching her and going 'muwahahahaha'.

I have zero interest in Wonder Woman, but I would probably watch this movie.
