I think most people are not getting their hopes up. A Justice League movie just isn't going to work as well as The Avengers unless DC gets their shit together.

They really should call it World's Finest, at least in keeping with the trend of not using actual superhero names in their movie titles.

I don't know why I didn't notice that they haven't actually put the superhero's name into the titles of the past three movies (excluding Green Lantern), but...yeah, that's just one more tally in the score of "We're kind of ashamed of our source material, but if we make it dark and dramatic enough, maybe people will forget that it's based on a comic book."

I know, like, two people who are excited about that. It'll be boring as shit just like the other recent DC movies. I would love to be excited about DC movies, but as long as they're just desperately throwing things together without taking time to really set their universe up, it'll be a mess. I'm pretty sure it won't deserve the title 'World's Finest'.

I'm kinda meh about it too. I liked the Nolanverse Batman films, but I still haven't seen Man of Steel and don't have much desire to. Not sure how they're going to mix Supes and Bats together for a film like this. (Yea I know they team up in comics, but on film...that's a different rodeo.)

DC is going to pretend that the Nolanverse movies didn't happen, right? Because I know Bale isn't coming back, and I doubt they would let JGL be Batman. Plus, I can't see the Nolanverse meshing well with this type of film.

I will end up going to see it because superheroes(I'm an easy sell, sorry), however as with all the current DC films I will expect nothing from it and maybe it'll be okay.

I agree completely. Man of Steel was fairly terrible and this just shows that they don't really know what to do, except attract fans by making them curious about the new Batman. Never mind that it's too early to have a new Batman so shortly after Christian Bale. The only way it could work well, imo, would be to have JGL!Robin take over as Batman, but apparently they're not even considering that.

Practically everyone I know is creaming themselves over this announcement. I think it's a vote of non-confidence in the Superman reboot, and smells of desperation on the part of Warner Brothers and DC Comics.

The very idea that they may not even call it 'World's Finest' worries me greatly. It will still make billions, regardless. Which makes me very, very sad.

IDK, while I think 'World's Finest' would be great, I also appreciate the fact that there's a comic series called 'Batman/Superman'. Like, the slash is LITERaLLY IN THE TITLE. I personally just friendship it, but it's still hilariously awesome.

Yee-eeahh, I don't know that that many people are truly stoked about this flick. If you were in Hall H when it was announced, I can see flipping a bit, because the announcement was cool and, well, it's Hall H. But otherwise, you're very right. It feels like DC just has no faith in any Not Batman thing.

But they don't understand why (it's cause Marvel went into this without shame and kept it fun, and DC can only do grimdark right apparently)
