Sometimes I think in Ken Levine's weird little brain the clear romantic vibe between Booker and Elizabeth is intentional because he's trying to be "super fucking subversive" and mess with people.

It's sad because the boardwalk sequence/borderline dating sim was the last genuinely interesting part of the game before it degenerated into hamfisted social commentary that gets tossed aside midway through making a half-formed point in exchange for generic comic book-style AU nonsense, all of it driven forward in as lurchingly a fashion as possible by unsatisfying gameplay that fails to evolve in any meaningful way.

This new Rapture DLC maybe the only thing I'd reinstall the game for, and even then I'll wait 'til it goes on sale.

Is it weird that I don't see a romantic vibe in the under ten minutes of interaction in this video? I just see noir.

I played Infinite and I didn't see any romantic interest between Booker and Elizabeth. If anything I sensed a refreshing lack of it. The goddamn Luteces have more sexual tension.

The FANDOM sure shipped, but that's because fandom's gonna fandom. I don't think Levine shipped them at all.

Now, I do think Levine ships Levine/Veronica Lake (actress he took some visual cues from), so that might mean a more sexual Elizabeth, but that doesn't mean we'll see an Elizabeth aiming that sexuality at Booker. Levine doesn't strike me as that kind of dude, and there's women doing important things on the writing staff, so I'm not so worried.

What I saw was one that's mostly a Noir trope that *can* seriously play into romance/romantic tension depending on how it's handled which could go either way, imo.

Absolutely! But the femme fatale trope doesn't translate to femme fatale/hero.

I trust Levine. I don't trust most video game guys but I think he can do a good job.

i can't help but wonder if ken levine forgets that booker and elizabeth are father and daughter, then when someone reminds him, he thinks to himself, "oh, shit. well, we've already made the trailer!"

Bioshock Ifinite might have been the best gaming experience this year. I am totally read for this DLC.

God, Elizabeth is hot. So hot...

ANYWAY, I guiltily shipped them when they were still related so if Elizabeth/Booker happens in the DLC at least I can feel slightly less like a creeper for shipping them.

I don't think it will though, and I'm perfectly fine with that. It would weird a lot of people out so it's probably best they don't go there.
