Yeah, including Snape was excessive diplomacy. But more of an asshole than James, yeah -- as another anon pointed out, the werewolf prank was, besides potentially fatal for Snape, the height of assholery to Remus, who was supposedly Sirius's friend.

yeah i saw an anon above said remus was his "best friend" which is not true. remus was "a friend" and probably ranked on sirius's radar about as high as peter so probably not very high at all, just not easily overlooked like peter.

/eyerolls at this stuff the sirius/remus fans always forget

sirius and james were besties. i bet sirius cared about two things: getting laid and james. maybe lily by extension. nobody else really. if he was really remus's friend even when james died, he wouldn't have thought remus was a liar and a traitor.

AH FINALLY. No one ever gets it. I know so many Sirius/Remus shippers that nitpick at the tiniest details like Sirius saying "It was always me and Remus... and James..." and taking that to mean Remus > James in Sirius's opinion. The whole point was that Sirius was so emotional about James that his name came up last. Oi.

I'm so with you on this. I think SIrius saw Remus as basically a more competent Peter. Even after James was long gone, Sirius left everything in his possession to James's kid.. and nothing to Remus, who was poor. Once again Sirius didn't think at all about Remus.
