Sorry, Anon, all I can hear in my head now is Fleetwood Mac.

Me, too. God, what an amazing song.

[Picture is the screen-capture of a text document on a text editing program. It says this, centered:

I am unreasonably excited that he's really making this. (For the life of me, though? I have no freakin' clue why I even care.)

From Wikipedia:

SModcast is a weekly podcast featuring filmmaker Kevin Smith and his long-time producing partner Scott Mosier, although guests are occasionally featured. Released each Sunday night/Monday morning, the episodes are generally one hour in length and feature Smith and Mosier discussing current events and other non-sequitur topics.

Here is the podcast referenced, but I'm not sure what the OP is talking about otherwise:

Thank you for these notes! I had never even heard of his podcasts :)

There was an online ad for a housemate in a house somewhere in England. The person who wrote the ad said the housemate could live with him for free, perfect privacy and everything, but once a week would have to wear a walrus suit and make walrus noises.

Smith and his podcaster/producer buddy Mosier started riffing on the story (not sure how legit the ad was, though), and discussing making it into a creepy horror movie. They basically ran through a whole fictional movie, and Smith got really into the idea and began writing it. I think he's looking to make it into a small-budget horror flick.

Oh, thanks!

Hang on, is this the film he's making about the Brighton fake lodger advert about dressing up as a walrus? (writing that out makes me feel like I just stuck a load of random words together to form a sentence)

Yeah, though he's changed some details so he doesn't get sued. (He's moved the setting to Manitoba, i believe.) Micheal Parks is on deck to play the landlord, and Quentin Tarantino is going to play a French-Canadian cop who investigates named Guy LaPointe. No word yet on who's playing the lodger/victim yet.
