(Anonymous) 2013-08-10 08:53 pm (UTC)(link)That said, I do think there is an advantage in that it's your own domain to share fandom thoughts and feelings, plus there's always a chance something will circle back to you. You can sort of do that on LJ, but while you will have people link to public posts, that takes more time than reblogging. So you don't have the more personal connection, but you have your own soapbox.

Teens and young adults are generally more prone to angst and drama than their elders, obviously, but I just don't remember my generation carrying the overwhelming load of negativity I'm seeing now.

The main thing: A "popular" fandom. My fandom life is based on a single actor nowadays and I get limited attention. But I sometimes make gifs etc for popular fandoms and my posts get hundreds of notes.
It's normal that Tumblr makes you feel old. Most of the users are like 14-20 years old, so....
