(Jumps up and down) Ooh, I'm in the ME fandom. Which are you thinking of? The most "overhyped" fic I can probably think of is maybe... spicyshimmy's work? and I think she's pretty good.

Sense and flexibility by roarkshop. I'll be honest, I started out liking it but it got more OOC and harder to read the further I went.

I haven't read spicyshimmy's stuff lately, but when I did I liked it.

Ah. I haven't read that one (been off ff.net a while) but it sounds like I was lucky. It seems like there's such a volume of Shakarian nowadays that for every good fic, there's a Sue-filled mess. Ah, such is the law of averages. (btw: If you're into the pairing, I recommend Suilven's stuff. She's one of the few writers I check into ff.net for.)

Yeah, spicyshimmy's work is fabulous, but very well-known. I took a blind guess there.

You did dodge a bullet ;) or at least a deluge of OOCness. Shakarian is still my Mass Effect otp, but the sheer amount of fic - ff.net, tumblr, ME kinkmeme or otherwise - has burnt me out on them in the past. I read a whole lot less now, but there's still some great ones out there.

Thank you! I'll check her out. The last long one I read was Ghost, Ghost (I Know You Live Within Me) ... I think I got the title right. Anyway, I haven't finished it yet but it's about Garrus on Omega and he either hallucinates or sees the ghost of Shepard all the time, giving him advice and stuff. It's pretty neat. It's on the kink meme and tumblr!
