I'm late to the party, I know.

I've just seen this and... I didn't hate it? I was bracing myself to find it awful but it wasn't that bad.

What were your thoughts on it?

It was okay. Nothing to get excited about, but nothing to get nerd-ragey over either.

It wasn't that bad for the market it was created for. Most of the fuss you saw was from adult men who think the show should be written for their tastes. They were just handed a hard pill to swallow (That being that they aren't and will never be the main target audience). That's why you have all these silly boycotting and whatnot. Because men between the ages of 18-35 have ~nothing~ marketed to them, amirite.

it's pretty much like "a canterlot wedding" in that the writers did the best they could with what they were given (which was firstly considered to sell the shit out of toys to little girls and secondly as to how it would work as a story)

except that a canterlot wedding turned out cool and had way less plotholes and wtf moments and generally felt less of a waste of time

I thought it was kind of bad but not, like, exceptionally bad or anything. It edged closer into "so bad it's good" territory rather than "so bad it's terrible" territory like I thought it would

It was okay. My sis and I didn't like it too much though. There wasn't enough magic and neither of us personally like the school related stories

I loved it from the moment the news hit the bronies. The tears were delicious.

As for the movie itself, it was... basically everything I thought it would be. Intensely cheesy and glorious.

I haven't seen it yet (and probably won't bother, if I'm being honest), but I saw one or two of the songs on Youtube and then immediately forgot every note and word of them, which is never a good sign for me.
