She also objected to giving the poor and ill people under her care pain medication or meaningful medical treatment, because their suffering brought them "closer to God." I judge her for that as well as the other thing.

iirc she also said that the poor exist in order to give the more well-off people a "project" basically

I know people who worked in Calcutta and went to see her place, they said it was awful, really poor conditions, the other charities were offering much better care, but didn't get the acclaim and publicity she did.
