(Anonymous) 2013-08-10 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)Yeah. I seriously agonise about it. The victim doesn't want to talk about it, understandably (I found out from a really good friend of theirs). As everyone thinks the BNF is SO perfect and morally upright, I do think there's a serious risk of it backfiring into people slamming the victim if she ever did come forward.
The ONLY reason I'm not convinced the secret is about this particular BNF is because the BNF HAS slipped up a few times and said something creepy enough to get her slammed by fandom_wank or whatever. All but one of those slip-ups were a very long time ago, so it could be that it is the same person and OP doesn't know about them. Either way, I'm uneasy at all the assumptions that OP is just a bad person for smelling an insincere rat about the BNF? There could well be some kind of underlying red flag there, whoever they're talking about.
