I was diagnosed BPD in 1998 and I still don't understand it. I was in treatment for a couple years and none of that made any sense, either. I was told that inability to get along with other women was part of my disorder and so they assigned me a woman doctor who also happened to be the most condescending person I've ever met. I never got anything out of therapy with her or in the groups I had to go to for a while. I eventually stopped treatment entirely and ever since I have just worked on my anger management, disassociated feelings, and anxiety by myself. It hasn't been very good for me, tbh. If I could afford to get treatment now, I would. I wish I could go back in time and make the case managers I was stuck under understand that I really had no idea what was going on with me or how to get better.

I hope you have a better experience, nonnie, and I wish you the best of luck!

I'm so sorry you went through that - there is not a lot in the world that's worse than someone working in mental health care when they don't care! I'm really grateful for your well-wishes and I really hope you're managing okay by yourself. Sometimes you are your own best doctor, that's what I sometimes think...
