Okay great, but how does that impact whether or not he rocks, as is implied in the wording about Tori? 'Cause you can like a character, but not their looks.

Because Troi has gotten a lot of hate for being useless T&A on TNG so liking anything about Troy can get you bashed.

Or I should say 'could'. Now-a-days people have mostly come around.

But most of all I was joking with you as an excuse to mention Spock's hair.

And the hate is so lame, man.

I mean...okay. I don't like how she's presented in certain episodes, and I think some of the wardrobe choices for her character are a bit questionable. But she's intelligent and insightful beyond her empathic abilities -- she adds quite a bit to debates/discussions, helps get the crew out of jams, and brings others back down to earth (or...to ship?) when they need it.

I think this is a case where the little amount of sexualization present completely backfired on TPTB. It read as cheap and, for some people, overrode all other aspects of her character. It's such a shame.

You're preaching to the choir, anon. I feel pretty much the same way. She had a point but sometimes writers didn't know what to do with her and the T&A thing backfired big time with most audiences. Overall, I really liked her though.

It is a shame. And all this talk is just making me want to go watch an episode or wish someone started a new TV series. Uuuuuggggghhhhhhhhhh.
