The problem with the post, imo, has more to do with the fact he's using her as a way to shut down discussion and his thing about 'You should be celebrating how far things have come, not saying it's not enough!' since, again to me, that comes off very much like 'It's no longer a problem!'

Yeah, that's true. It does feel like a cop-out when guys say "but here are these good things so why are you still complaining?"
