In high school? At least, my high school? No, they didn't. They cost the school money, same as any other club.

College football? Sure. But there were no ticket sales or corporate sponsorships for the high school rowing regattas or wrestling team.

Some highschools charge for games and/or concessions or have charity drives based on the sports team. I imagine there's a lot less consistent gain in high school, but some schools do make something directly or indirectly from their teams.

Not mine, and they still gave the sports teams more funding. It's cultural, and having seen both sides of it, damned if dethtoll doesn't have a point.
