What bothered me about it is that in the end, those future people use the Crucible. They don't hunt the Reapers down in dark space, they don't spend their cycle planning and find some way to - IDK, nuke any Reaper tech that passes through the relays, they don't really do anything innovative with the information that was left behind. They just do the same thing Shepard refused to do, which makes the entire thing seem fairly pointless. It doesn't feel like a fuck you because the current cast of characters loses, it feels like a fuck you because the outcome is ultimately the same as it would've been if you picked one of the original flavors.

Yeah, I got this feeling from it too. It basically boils down to "Shepard was unable to make a difficult decision, and ultimately SOMEOME will have to make that same decision or the cycle will never stop."
