I've spent my entire life yearning for stories about intense friendships between men and women that aren't just preludes to romance.

Me too. There aren't nearly enough of them out there.

I'm convinced this is part of the reason why anytime I've made a male friend, they end up wanting to be in a relationship with me as soon as they've known me for long enough, and then they act like they can't be my friend anymore after I tell them I'm not interested. Everyone always acts like girls and boys can't be "just friends."

It's sad that mostly fandoms can only imagine black or white, hate or love between canon friendships, and not the actual caring friendships that exist in the world. And I'm talking about all gender pairings.

This is why I'll be forever pissed Disney decided not to be faithful to the original story of The Snow Queen. Most beautiful story about the platonic love between a girl and a boy... and Disney made it a fucking adventure flick about sibling rivalry.
