This guy made a perfect girl out of computer software. It encouraged the guy to focus on this idealized girl instead of the real people in his life. His female friend felt intimidated and did a dangerous stunt to try to prove that she was just as good as the programmed girl. She almost died, but the programmed girl went into her coma and "died" saving her.

Yes, though there was a very Disney moment where the programmed girl's "ghost/angel" appeared at the end to remind us what channel made it.

It can. But I haven't seen it since I was little and thought him telling ProgrammedGirlPossessingRealGirl that he just wanted RealGirl back was redemption enough.
