It wouldn't piss me off but it would probably disappoint me a little because it would be something that we didn't have in common and couldn't share.

See, that's an understandable reaction! This post I saw was somebody complaining that their friend shipped a pairing they didn't like and that it pissed them off. And maybe they were being hyperbolic, but even getting into "You ship what I don't ship and that makes me angry" territory is just...what?

I mean, I might be a hypocrite here because I keep being annoyed at the vast amounts of art and fic for ships I don't ship, but I've never been angry at my friends for simply preferring it. Sometimes it's fun discussing why we ship and don't ship the same things. Diversity in opinions is what makes things interesting!

This! Especially because one of my friends is an amazing artist, and she likes to do fanart for the pairings she likes. So every pairing we don't shaare is one less opportunity to see some gorgeous art of the pairing I like XD

That said, if we don't share pairings, we generally just... don't talk pairings. We flail over the fandom in general instead.

I agree. I actually have this problem! It's a little sad because it is disappointing. :(
