da

it's not what you are saying, it's the weird inner-narration rambling way you're saying it

Hm. Yeah, I can see what you're saying.

Maybe there's something about how I experience spiritual connection that makes me seem drunk? Might be useful to tone that down in future extrapolations/explanations.

Then again, maybe I shouldn't be so concerned with the manner of my expression.

ayrt

this is just my two cents, but, from personal experience has someone with a "non-standard" religious belief, it's better not to get into those sorts of discussions

seriously they just alienate people

you are not going to win anyone over and convince them that your way is the way or super normal or anything, even though you are defending something that seems perfectly rational

it's best to stop caring so much about what other people believe

i mean, yeah, some are nosy but i've found that if you stand your ground and be all like "naw, it's private, let's talk about something else" they either respect that or give up, unless they are super stubborn grade a jerks or something

It's a bit strange to me that that's where you've gone with this, but...I'll take it at face value.

I'm interested in sharing, as the act of sharing is itself meaningful to me. I do want to find others who believe what I do, but I'm not interested in convincing others of same, because from my perspective, that not rational.

I have family members who will disown me if they find out that I am not Christian. As a result, I keep what I believe secret from them. For me, when you tell me that it is best to stop caring about what others believe, you are telling me two things: a) that I should stop caring about the fact that I will be set apart from a particular segment of my family and b) that I should stop seeking others who feel the way that I do. Logically, I see what you are getting at: my personal belief exists apart from the beliefs of others. But I object to the idea that caring about what others believe is in conflict with that tenet.
