How does height difference have anything to do with family dynamics? And reflected in real life, what? Are you saying that a tall person should have a height requirement (you must be at least this tall to date me)? What do you mean by extreme - one foot, two feet? At what point does it become unacceptable?

As a woman on the short side (5'1"), I'm wondering this too because everyone I've dated has been at least eight inches taller than me.

Seriously. I'm only an inch taller than you, and pretty much everyone I've ever dated has been at least a half a foot taller than myself. It has nothing to do with a dad/daughter thing, it's all about being a fucking short person and the average person being a good deal taller than myself.

I'm wondering if OP didn't mean that RL relationships with a large height distance tend to result in the smaller partner taking on an infantile role. I know I've definitely seen it happen, but I have no idea if it has anything to do with height. :/

I have seen it happen, too. But I wouldn't say there's a major tendency. And I usually assume that those relationships are like that because both of the people in them like it that way. I've known people who want to be taken care of and I've known people who want to be needed like that, so as long as they're happy, well, whatever.

I've seen this myself but I don't think it's tied exclusively to height. I'm 6'0 and have absolutely no interest in any of my partners past or future taking on in infantile role. In fact, if they did, I wouldn't be interested in them but that's just me.
