Really? Curious. For what purpose?

(I am asking without sarcasm. I find this interesting.)

I print fic sometimes if I really like the story and have a long journey to go on. A big pile of paper to read is nice on the train or a bus when there's no power. Or car trips, when I lived somewhere where I went on car trips.

Sometimes my computer gives me headaches too, so I'll print a really long fic so I can read it somewhere else or just give my eyes a break.

If you have some money to invest, I'd suggest an e-book reader. Most bigger archives either have their own download options or are available over FLAG to download fic. Since I have a kindle, reading long and epic fanfic has gotten so much more enjoyable (reading too long on a computer screen gives me headaches as well). The power lasts a very long time (I haven't really charged it for over a month now, it's enough to connect it to the computer for a while and you're good to go for a few weeks) and you also save a lot of paper, space and ink/toner.

Thanks anon! I've been debating one and wondering how well it'll work for fanfic.

Many thanks!

You're welcome! I'm very happy with it and it works beautifully. If you decide on getting one, https://www.flagfic.com/ is the site where you can convert online fic into e-book format. Ao3 has its own download system for several formats and Calibre is another very useful freeware tool for converting files.

A03 works awesome for sticking fanfic onto a kindle. I found calibre to fiddly to even begin to mess with, but I am a lazy impatient creature.

Ah, that makes sense. Thank you for explaining your reasoning.
