How many of you have ever had dreams involving celebrities?

Until a couple of nights ago, I never had a single dream involving a celebrity.

I dreamed I went on a date with Michael Fassbender, and we walked through a park on a sunny day and ate ice-cream. It was baffling, but a nice respite from the sorts of surreal nightmares I normally have.

So - are celebrity dreams normal? Can they be caused by ingesting strange foods and/or medicines? Tell me your thoughts.

Strangely enough, none I can recall. Weird.

Pretty sure they're normal. I fell asleep reading Sandman a couple of days ago and had a dream about getting a book signed by Neil Gaiman. Very odd.

Last night I had a dream about the dude who voices Cecil (?) on that Night Vale thing because of that secret yesterday. I haven't listened to any of it and don't know anything about it really, so it was weird. We were at my dad's house (where i haven't lived for 8 years) and I said the podcast was really cool idea and I admired him for doing it. I was, like, interviewing him about it. Then he asked me how I like it and I told him I hadn't listened to it yet. So, then he got all pouty and then I felt him up. And then we made out. It was weird. When I woke up I felt the strong desire to actually look this thing up and listen to it or whatever you do.

I dunno if this counts but a little while ago I had a dream that

insanenoodlyguy was Malachai Nicolle's dad. (The kid who writes Axe Cop). I forgot to tell him about it so hopefully he sees this.

I remember in the dream it was some kind of big secret and when he told me I was devastated because it ruined all my plans. Somehow. And I was really embarrassed.

I had a dream where I was Chris Hemsworth and I had to fight a giant cow for some reason. It sounds stupid now, but while I was having the dream it was mildly terrifying.

D: You lucky bastard! I have had several dreams involving celebrities (never the Fassbender). However, I am never actually in the dreams. I am either an invisible observer OR in the body of someone else that I feel I have no control over.

And I expect they are as normal as any other dream. Your brain just happened to light up something about Michael Fassbender and BAM! He was in your dream.

I have dreams about celebs every so often. Sometimes romantic, sometimes we're just friends. I've even dreamed I was a specific person. Although in that case, I was supposed to be a fictional character they played and not the actor.

I also have crazy, fucked up, sometimes surreal nightmares. A therapist in college said I was suffering from PTSD because of an abusive childhood. My dreams involve a lot of really violent stuff, dead bodies, and running.

I'm sorry to hear that, anon. :(

I don't think I have PTSD, although I do have anxiety, and take meds that mess with my hormones, so it's probably something to do with that mix.

I hope you'll have a lot more adorable going-on-a-date-with-a-hot-celebrity dreams instead! You deserve all the nice dreams.

Not really a "celebrity" because I don't think he's well known at all but there's this political/news commentator guy whose name I don't even know, and I dreamed about him last night. In the dream I was still living with my parents, and my dad was working with News Guy for some reason, and he came over to our house for dinner. He was super nice and talked to me while I was preparing some of the food and...then I woke up. So random.

I've had a number of dreams about fictional characters from live action media who look and sound just like the actors who play them, but that might not be quite the same thing, as they were definitely the characters in my dreams, not the actors. The only dream I can remember having about an actual celebrity involved John Lennon. I no longer remember what was going on or what, if anything, he did in the dream, but I remember that he was in in.

I have a few times since I started taking melatonin at bedtime. I never did in the 41 years before that.

Be careful where/what you buy. I read in the paper a while back that some of it is cut with actual drugs, like the stuff in Ambien (wicked side effects, uncontrolled dosages when mixed), or other tranquilizers, and that is NOT what you want to mess around with, thinking you are taking something "natural."

I found that out the hard way :( I get it from my doctor now and haven't had any more problems. My dreams aren't as vivid as they were with the drugstore stuff I took the first couple of months, and I don't toss and turn like I did with that, either.

Similar boat - I never had any dreams involving celebrities until a month or so ago, and I think I've had two or three since then. Except a couple times in college after I marathoned Gossip Girl I had a couple dreams with characters in them - not actors though, characters.

I don't think I've ever had celebrities, but I sometimes have dreams with fandom characters involved in one way or another.

Last night I had a particularly vivid dream featuring the cast of Doctor Who and Sydney Losstarot from Vagrant Story.

Yeah, but nothing special. Either I'm just seeing some singer/band in concert or it's some fleeting moment in the dream where whatsherface from Evanescence is suddenly my friend's friend and hanging out in my basement with her, or something.

One time I had a dream that Jason Bateman was my dad. That wasn't the whole point of the dream, but it was part of it. We got in an argument at some point and I was lucid/cliche enough to yell "You're not my real dad!" at him. I think that's what woke me up, too.

Come to think of it, I've had a dream about fighting Michael Cera before! Apparently I have some kind of fixation on antagonizing Arrested Development cast members.

Sometimes it seems the only dreams I remember are the ones with celebrities :/ In the most recent one Bruce Willis was my boyfriend, and then it turned into a sex dream but I woke up just as it started to get good. Um yeah. I think sometimes it's just because I've seen or read something about the celebrity lately, so my mind dredges up when I'm sleeping, or sometimes I associate a particular emotion with a celebrity - for instance, I think Bruce Willis is attractive, but I also get a comforting father-figure vibe from him, which my brain translates into a dream where he is comforting, protective boyfriend. I don't think you should be that weirded out by it, for whatever reason anon.
