To be fair, he was going to make a spinoff for Nick at Night, then MTV entitled "The Patakis". Bob was going to have to deal with his business failing (no one really using beepers anymore) and having to find a new career. Olga drops out of school to become an actor, which their parents do not approve of. Miriam would have been going to AA, and had a much better relationship with Helga. Arnold would have been with his parents, so the show would have focused on Helga growing into her teenage years, seeing Dr.Bliss, etc.

And yeah. Craig Bartlett has done a lot of interviews for fans, and he said that Arnold would have returned Helga's feelings in "TJM". They would have dated a little after that, and then broken up. He moved away, the Patakis happens, Arnold eventually comes back and they work things out. They eventually travel around, get married, and have children. Here's one of the interviews (the married bit is in the middle, 6mins onward)
