Where is "here"?

Hourly set wage in the US is about $2-4. With tips it goes to $10-12, but that's provided you get the tips. And if you don't get the tips and make the restaurant pay the difference, you probably get fired for doing a shitty job.

I live in BC. I get tipping for good service but waiters acting like they deserve the extra tip even though they did a shitty job is just silly.

I've heard about that and I understand why tipping there is so important. Employers should pay their waiters/waitresses an acceptable wage instead of making the customers pay the difference.
