Not OP but sometimes people just don't like stuff. I love the movie but you have to admit it's not going to be everyone's cup of tea. It's hardly cinematic brilliance or anything... it's fun if you're into it, it's probably pretty bad if you're not.

I couldn't stand the vomit scenes, personally. They were way overdone.

Yeah, I would've enjoyed the movie more without all of the vomit and obligatory Nice Guy scenes.

I think everyone was just sort of burned out on the high-school-as-a-musical-but-see-they're-in-music-groups-so-it-makes-sense thing. And personally I thought all the characters were flat and tropey, as was...basically all of it? Like, it wasn't exactly bad but it was utterly unmemorable. But to be fair I think exactly the same thing of High School Musical and Glee and all of that.

-the story was clunky and did not flow well
-the characters had poor chemistry (both the friendships and romantic interest came off weak)
-none of the characters were particularly memorable
-the music wasn't well done
-as someone mentioned above, there were too many throw up scenes (this is a personal problem with me, as I can't stand that sort of humor) and it felt odd going with the tone of the rest of the film

None of these opinions are esoteric, it's fine if you liked the film but it was really not the quality people were praising it to be. I'd call it mediocre at best.

I had to stop watching after the scene where the main character gets cornered naked in the shower and not left alone until she sings, even though she's obviously uncomfortable about being harassed by another naked woman, and the scene where the "is that a boy or a girl" character is obviously the lesbian one. I'm sorry, was I supposed to like any of the characters other than the kind of dorky boys? Because they're all pretty insufferable, especially the main character. Telling someone you think their hobby is lame isn't being ~real and open~, it's being fucking rude. If you don't want to join, just walk away from their booth.

I like the scene well enough and to each their own on hating the film, but I admit I do find it really specific and odd that you picked THIS scene out as the "good" one. It was all right but... IDK, I just don't get it o_O But that's ok :)

(I think it confuses me because in my experience when I hate a movie or show and a song I love is put on there I hate that scene a lot because it's "ruining" the song I like, lol)

The movie was kinda disappointing :( I'll never tell my friends that tho. But I do love this song, I belt it (which seems weird) when it comes on the radio

I listen to the longer version sometimes, but I never cared for that scene in particular. For some strange reason, I like the cup song...except for the parts that involve the cups.

Whatever. I like it. Becca was a jerk in the beginning, yes, but she actually developed over the course of the movie. The romance was kind of weak, but I wasn't watching it for bland face guy. Also thought the friendships were pretty cute. I am genuinely disappointed that the redhead wasn't a lesbian but you can't always get what you want. :/
