What makes a person into an "LOLcow" on the internet?

(Anonymous) 2013-08-17 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
I'm asking in all seriousness. I recently discovered Encyclopedia Dramatica and I've been warned to never take questions like this to any chan-type boards. I'm trying to figure this out and hope to find better answers than the generic "lurk moar" meme.

Why does one person who does, say, Sonic recolors get trolled, but another person who does almost the same thing doesn't?

Please help me understand. I'm not an SJW or someone here to condemn trolls. I only seek knowledge.

Thank you in advance for your time.

I think it's mostly if someone from catches onto you. It's the same with any site or group that makes fun of people on the internet, of which there are many. ED tends to take it a few notches further, though.

I don't mean this to sound insulting or patronising, but there's not a whole lot in "understanding" trolls. The point of trolling prevents logic.

Some people get trolled because of provocation/douchiness (like internet tough guys, or people who don't pick their fights). Others get trolled for no reason other than the troll brigade picked them. There's no rhyme or reason, really.

I don't know. There are recognizable troll patterns and styles that I think are pretty easy to understand once you know how to spot them.

Thank you anyway :)

a lulzcow is the person that's entertaining. While both people may do sonic recolors, people troll one because that person gets angry and lashes out at the trolls and embarrasses themselves on the internet, making it amusing.

Real answer! Autism helps

No really. There's a group online, many on the spectrum who have the worst combo:

A. Awkard. This may also result in them picking fights on the internet and arguing it with a pasison.

B. Odd tastes/obsessions. Combined with A, you got somebody explaning to you why it's okay to rape ponies or how diapers for grown men should be government funded.

C. Don't know when to quit: Where the more aware person would go "oh shit, time to bail from this forum/webpage/whatever" they just keep at it. Thus a perpetual and not just one time source of lulz. Hence, like a cow keeps giving milk, the lolcow delivers the lulz.
