Her name is Aeris

I don't know if you know or care, but that's a pretty racist attitude.
They didn't suddenly change her name to aerith for the compilation, her name was always aerith, it was a translator that thought it sounded less ethnic to call her aeris in the English version (Like the Terra / Tina debacle in an earlier FF game.)

Just because you assume the American version is superior to the Japanese version does not mean that the American version is correct. Her name is / was / should always be Aerith.

Ooh, so you're the one (one person) who claimed I was an idiot for saying Aeris is better? LMAO That is hilarious. First, consider how many inconsistencies were in the original script. "Aeris" was not chosen over "Aerith" because it sounded more "exotic" (and seriously, man, choosing Terra over Tina is not racist, either). There were numerous translation inconsistencies. Plus, Aeris also has meaning relevant to the character (Latin for "breath", which refers to her Breath of Earth limit break). And you know what? It just sounds better. If I picked a random name in a different language, it might sound stupid, it might not, but man you're an idiot if you claim it's racist to say that name sounds stupid.

PS, I speak Japanese. :-/ And she ISN'T Aerith in the Japanese version. She's エアリス.
