[Picture is a screen-capture of a single line of text from the website "TV Tropes". It says: "Numerological Motif: Strings of identical digits seem to hold some significance with Slender Man. For example,"]

I get antsy when I see more than two of the same number in a row on the clock.

Why? I don't understand.

I am assuming the OP has an irrational fear of Slenderman who is prone to showing up when numbers on a clock repeat (12:12, 09:09, etc).

(Anonymous) 2013-08-17 07:48 pm (UTC)(link)
But that's silly, Slenderman was invented by the Internet, it doesn't exist. It's nonsense.

Every myth starts somewhere. And the origin of Slenderman is particularly awesome. Perhaps anon doesn't know he originated from a forum?

It's nice that you're a super rational person who never gets spooked by fiction, but most people actually aren't that way.

Can't imagine how they must feel at 11:11 at night.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-18 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks for that. I'm going to have a hard time sleeping tonight. :)

I was thinking the same thing.

I know it has nothing to do with the secret, but I notice when the numbers form historically significant dates :/ Like, 18:12. Or 19:14. 19:18, 19:39, 18:37, 17:95.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-18 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
Me too! Ugh, a few months ago people were making some incredibly sick jokes at 9:11 A.M. - you can probably guess what about - and I all but punched them.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-18 06:18 am (UTC)(link)
The X-Files was my first major fandom. I still grin a little when I happen to glance up at the clock and it's either 10:13 or 11:21.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-18 05:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I, for some reason, start feeling weird when I catch a digital clock changing to full hours. The number doesn't matter. If a ":00" is behind it, I feel a rush of adrenaline. Like something is about to happen. Really strange.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-17 10:59 pm (UTC)(link)
I used to try and be around a digital clock after ten at night, just so I could see the 22:22. I'd have tried for the 11:11 too, but 11am I'm prone to being in work. 22:55 is also good because on most digital clocks it's a mirror image. You'd think midnight would be good, but instead of 00:00, a lot of clocks only go 0:00, which annoys me.

I just like symmetry, though.

And the irony is that your secret is number 11.

I was first imagining this as an analog clock and had a really weird mental image.

And then went, "OH they mean digital!!!"

Oops.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-18 05:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Same here, and I thought, "Yeah, that would actually be a pretty good time to get antsy..."
