You should really check out Sandman, if you enjoy his novels. IMO it's his best work by a considerable amount. Not that his novels are bad, it's more that Sandman is really, really, really good. If you like his novels you will probably like Sandman.

Seconded. His novels get a little bogged down and sometimes feel a little padded for me. His YA stuff is excellent, and his short stories are too. I think he just rocks out in the shorter forms.

I've been interested in Sandman for a while, but it's just the cost of getting all of them that turns me off. I definitely want to, though, and probably will end up reading it soon :)

Hm, yeah, I can see how that would be an issue. I read it out of my local library which was pretty sweet. But I hope you do get a chance to give it a try!

They're available on Kindle now, too, if that's an option. They're prob less expensive there, though you'd lose the fun of holding the comic in your hands.

DA

They're a little cheaper on the Kindle but the quality is really bad :(

I don't think I'd rec reading comics on an ereader, the quality's really poor usually. Definitely check them out from the library!

My local library (and a couple others nearby that I go to sometimes) doesn't have them </3 I think I might be able to wrangle an interlibrary loan, though.

aww :( Mine does, that's what made me think of it. Best of luck in your quest!

I tried Sandman and it didn't really do anything for me.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-18 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
Or maybe they just didn't actually like it. Shocking, isn't it?

(Anonymous) 2013-08-18 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
Fair enough!
